Well, Simon is still being overly adored and pampered. I've joked about gettting a second fish and naming him Garfunkel (not sure if I even spelled that right) just to listen to LittleMan try to pronounce it.
I finally found a puppy that LuckyHusband and I could agree on. The problem was that we had kinda narrowed our qualifications so that very few puppies would actually fit what we wanted. We wanted something 15 pounds or under so that it wouldn't be too big that it would get in our way as a housedog. We wanted something that did not have long hair (that was mostly LuckyHusband's decision....he hates when we go to someone's house and leave with three tons of dog hair on our clothes). We also wanted something that was slightly intimidating and protective so I'd feel better when he was working evenings and nights. So....with all that in mind, I started looking at a breed that I have always loved.....Miniature Dobermans. I didn't realize how few breeders there were that were even remotely close to us. I finally found one...yes one, that's it...in our state. They are located about 4 hours or so away, but willing to meet us halfway. They have two black and tan puppies who don't even have their eyes open yet. So, as soon as they do, I'll get a picture of them. We wanted a girl, and both of them are girls!
They won't be ready for another 6 weeks or so, so that gives me plenty of time to get the house cleaned really well, buy a dog bed and all the accessories, and get LittleMan pumped up.
We've planned a weekend getaway to a Louisiana State Park that is about 2 hours from home for the first weekend in March. We have reserved a lodge and LuckyHusband, LittleMan, myself, my mom, Scuba Steve, Hooker, Hooker's boyfriend, Hooker's mom, and Hooker's dad are all going to go. There is a historic place close by that has really cool Indian mounds and stuff like that. We are all going to visit there and then the men (minus LittleMan) are going fishing while the women go outlet mall shopping! I can't wait. The point of this story is that we should probably have the puppy by then (I've got to think of a name) and she along with Hooker's two dogs, Bruno and Rusty, will get to go with us!
I took pics of two of the scarfs I made and a picture of Simon which I will load to the photo blog today. Check them out! My newest project is trying to make a baby hat, but it's going pretty poorly at this point :( I also have 5 babies that will be born to friends and family members in the next few months, so I really want to find something easy yet cute to make for them. I think I found a hooded blanket that I will be able to tackle.
Have a great day!

Melissa
Melissa-Mom to LittleMan (4/04); wife to LuckyHusband; full-time toxicologist; full-time housekeeper; full-time domestic laundromat manager (washes all the clothes); full-time domestic finance manager (pays all the bills and yells at husband for spending too much money on fishing stuff); and Keeper of the Cheerios. Lives in a tiny town; spends tons of time with family; reads; enjoys crafts. Can change a diaper, fill a sippy cup, and put on a toddler's shoes in 15.4 seconds flat, all while calculating the impact of petroleum hydrocarbons to a nearby surface water body (watch for me in the Toddler Olympics on CBS this fall). Addicted to Dr. Pepper; Kit Kats; and pasta. To spot me in a crowd: I'm the one with frizzy messed-up hair, smeared graham crackers on my shirt; huge purse with a diaper peeking out, toddler on her hip, and camera in hand at all times.
