Well, now for a continuation of my long Christmas post. First off, age recommendations on toys. Some people have no sense when it comes to buying kids' toys. So, for all of you...here is a little hint. Look on the box at the thing that says "Age recommendation". If it says 3 years and up, then a 20 month old probably won't be that into it.
LittleMan got a toy that he was super-excited about, only for it to frustrate him beyond belief because he was unable to play with it without tearing it up (surprise, surprise). So, it is in a box, taking up space that we don't have. Gotta love those people that ask you what to buy and then buy something else.
Ok....now onto Christmas Eve lunch. We decided to have Mexican food for our lunch at my aunt's house instead of traditional food because we were all sick of turkey and ham. So, I decided to make margaritas to be a little festive for the occasion. Now, I know where your mind is wandering with this, but you are all wrong. We weren't a bunch of drunks slurring "merrrrry Cwristmmmaaasss" at each other. I know my family and alcohol is never a good idea.
They were non-alcoholic and the kids (ages 12-17) loved them. They carried them around (in the margarita glasses I brought) like they were really grown up or something. It totally cracked me up.
Christmas morning was great! LittleMan wanted to play with all the toys that he had gotten the day before instead of opening his gifts though. But other than that, it was a blast. He would open a gift and want to play with it for a while instead of opening another, so it took FOREVER!
And, finally, after Christmas we found out that we would be welcoming a new family member. No one is having a baby, but Hooker's older brother Mark asked his girlfriend (of what seems like a zillion years) to marry him. She was proudly showing of the really sparkly ring finger. And, she wants LittleMan to be the ring bearer, so I'm really excited.
I'll finish the rest of my stories another day. Pictures have been added to the photoblog. However, photobucket was acting goofy, so some may be duplicated and some may not have showed up at all. Grr... http://cuteboyphotos.blogspot.com

Melissa
Melissa-Mom to LittleMan (4/04); wife to LuckyHusband; full-time toxicologist; full-time housekeeper; full-time domestic laundromat manager (washes all the clothes); full-time domestic finance manager (pays all the bills and yells at husband for spending too much money on fishing stuff); and Keeper of the Cheerios. Lives in a tiny town; spends tons of time with family; reads; enjoys crafts. Can change a diaper, fill a sippy cup, and put on a toddler's shoes in 15.4 seconds flat, all while calculating the impact of petroleum hydrocarbons to a nearby surface water body (watch for me in the Toddler Olympics on CBS this fall). Addicted to Dr. Pepper; Kit Kats; and pasta. To spot me in a crowd: I'm the one with frizzy messed-up hair, smeared graham crackers on my shirt; huge purse with a diaper peeking out, toddler on her hip, and camera in hand at all times.
