Can you believe how quickly the cost of gas has risen?  It is currently at around $2.45 or so here and I saw on the news where it is expected to rise until October, then steady off and drop about 25 cents per gallon by the end of the year, which will probably put us right back where we are right now.  If this continues, I don’t see how the economy will withstand it.  I seriously doubt people will have the money to spend on Christmas like they normally do this year if this trend continues.  Surely our government can do something about this.  This is just ridiculous!!!

As of today, I have only 2 more days until I leave for vacation.  YIPPEE!!  This is a well needed trip!  We have planned trips to the D-Day Museum, Confederate Museum, Children’s Museum (my child is going to hate my educational outlook later on), the Aquarium, the Zoo, and of course, the most important thing…..THE MALL!!  I can’t wait to do a little shopping!

LittleMan is growing so fast!  He started showing some of my OCD tendencies this weekend by throwing away diapers, candy wrappers, and anything else he could find.  Boy was I proud…lol!  He also is fully understanding yes and no and when he wants or doesn’t want something.  It’s kind of funny to see how opinionated he gets.  He’s also formed a strong affinity for his rubber boots his aunt bought him.  He insists on putting them on every morning after he wakes up.  They will not be making the trip with us this weekend.  LOL!

I’ve been kinda scatterbrained lately.  Last Friday, I put a book I’d been reading and some of LittleMan’s clothes on the top of the car while I buckled him in.  I forgot about them until I was halfway to work.  I was really enjoying that book (Thanks Marie for the recommendation…I’m reading Sarah right now) and the clothes were some of my favorites!  I called LuckyHusband and asked him to do a little looking and see if he could find them.  I knew they wouldn’t have made it very far.  But, he didn’t find them.  The next day we got a call from a neighbor who assumed they were ours based on the clothing sizes.  Thank goodness!

Melissa
Melissa-Mom to LittleMan (4/04); wife to LuckyHusband; full-time toxicologist; full-time housekeeper; full-time domestic laundromat manager (washes all the clothes); full-time domestic finance manager (pays all the bills and yells at husband for spending too much money on fishing stuff); and Keeper of the Cheerios. Lives in a tiny town; spends tons of time with family; reads; enjoys crafts. Can change a diaper, fill a sippy cup, and put on a toddler's shoes in 15.4 seconds flat, all while calculating the impact of petroleum hydrocarbons to a nearby surface water body (watch for me in the Toddler Olympics on CBS this fall). Addicted to Dr. Pepper; Kit Kats; and pasta. To spot me in a crowd: I'm the one with frizzy messed-up hair, smeared graham crackers on my shirt; huge purse with a diaper peeking out, toddler on her hip, and camera in hand at all times.
